Small Batch Children's Clothing Manufacturing in the UK

Ethical UK Clothing Manufacturing

Launch Your Clothing Brand Without Building a Supply Chain First

Your designs. Your branding. Made in Cornwall.

We've spent 11 years finding the fabrics, printers, patterns and production methods we trust.

Now your brand can use them too.

Choose from our established garment patterns, send us your print-ready fabric designs and tell us how you'd like your collection branded. We'll arrange the fabric printing, cut it, sew it, add your branding, quality check everything and send your finished collection back to you.

One production partner. Considerably less faff.

A Simpler Way to Build Your Range.

You bring the brand.

We bring the manufacturing experience.

Our small-batch production service gives independent brands access to the same kind of supply chain we've spent years building for Lottie & Lysh.

That means tried-and-tested garment patterns, trusted fabric bases, established textile printing, skilled cutting and sewing and production taking place here in our Cornwall studio.

You don't need to coordinate a fabric printer, pattern supplier, sewing studio and label company separately. Where suitable, we can manage the whole production process for you.

Our Production Service

You Bring the Brand. We Make the Collection.

02

Already Have Your Own Pattern?

That's fine too.

If you already have a professionally prepared, production-ready pattern, we can consider manufacturing it in our studio.

Send us the pattern, specifications and details of the materials you'd like to use and we'll confirm whether it's suitable for our machinery and production methods.

  • Production-ready PDF or paper patterns considered
  • Sampling where required
  • Cutting from supplied patterns
  • Garment construction
  • Brand label application
  • Small-batch production

We don't offer full pattern drafting or product development from a sketch, photograph or another brand's finished garment.

Fabric & Print

Your Prints. Our Fabric Supply Chain.

Already have your seamless repeat artwork ready for printing?

Perfect.

We can arrange custom textile printing through our established European printing partner using suitable fabric bases that we already know and work with.

We'll manage the fabric order and get it into production, so you don't need to coordinate your printer and manufacturer separately.

If your collection requires a fabric outside our usual bases, we can discuss whether it's suitable before you commit to production.

We Can Help With

  • Custom fabric printing
  • Cotton jersey and stretch fabrics
  • Sweatshirt fabrics
  • Coordinating solids and cuffing
  • OEKO-TEX certified fabric options
  • GOTS-certified fabric options where available
  • Fabric ordering and print management
  • Sampling before production where required

Your artwork needs to be supplied as a print-ready seamless repeat. We don't create fabric designs as part of our manufacturing service, although we may be able to point you towards a suitable surface pattern designer if required.

From Fabric to Finished Stock

We Handle the Making Bit Too.

Once your fabric arrives with us, production takes place in our Cornwall sewing studio.

We'll cut your fabric, construct your garments, add your branding, finish and quality check your collection before sending it back to you ready for photography, selling and fulfilment.

No anonymous factory.

No sending fabric between several different companies while trying to coordinate production yourself.

Just your collection, made properly.

Make It Yours

Your Name Goes Inside It. Not Ours.

Everything we manufacture for another brand is produced for that brand.

There is no Lottie & Lysh branding on your finished collection.

You can supply suitable labels and packaging yourself, or we can help source agreed branding for your production run.

Branding We Can Arrange

  • Custom woven brand labels
  • Care labels
  • Size labels
  • Swing tags
  • Label application during production
  • DTF branding

Small Batch Production

Start at a Sensible Size.

We're not interested in forcing a new brand to order hundreds of every size simply to reach a traditional factory minimum.

Our studio is built around small-batch production.

Minimum quantities depend on the garment, fabric and production requirements, but our model allows brands to launch at much more realistic volumes.

Make a sensible first run. Find out what your customers actually want. Increase production as your brand grows.

Small batch doesn't mean bargain manufacturing, though.

Ethical Clothing Manufacturing

Know Who Made Your Collection.

Fair Pay

Skilled garment production deserves skilled wages. Ethical production starts with the people doing the work.

Made in Cornwall

Your products are manufactured in our Cornwall sewing studio rather than anonymously outsourced elsewhere.

Transparent Sourcing

We'll tell you where materials are coming from and what certification applies to the fabrics used for your project.

Small Batch

Production based around realistic quantities helps reduce unnecessary stock and textile waste.

No Hidden Outsourcing

If we tell you we're making something in Cornwall, we're making it in Cornwall.

Built Properly

Our focus is proper construction and quality rather than producing the maximum possible number of garments as quickly as possible.

Years in Childrenswear

We've Already Done the Trial and Error.

Lottie & Lysh has been designing, sampling, cutting, sewing and selling children's clothing since 2015.

We've tested fabrics, worked with printers, developed garment patterns, experimented with construction methods and learnt what survives real children, repeated washing and everyday life.

We've also dealt with the less glamorous side.

Fabric deliveries. Print files. Labels. Suppliers. Production planning. Stock. Launches. Delays. Things selling out unexpectedly. Things nobody bought despite us being convinced they were brilliant.

You're not simply hiring somebody who can sew.

You're working with another independent clothing brand that understands what you're trying to put into the world.

How It Works

From Print File to Finished Collection.

01

Choose Your Product

Choose from our established children's garment patterns or show us the production-ready pattern you'd like us to consider.

02

Send Your Designs

Supply your print-ready artwork and tell us your required sizes, approximate quantities and branding requirements.

03

We Quote

We'll confirm whether the project is suitable, agree the production details and provide your manufacturing costs.

04

We Sort the Supply Chain

Where we're supplying the materials, we'll arrange your fabric printing and agreed labels or swing tags.

05

We Make It

Your collection is cut, sewn, branded, finished and quality checked in our Cornwall studio.

06

It's Yours

Your finished collection is sent to you ready to photograph, market, sell and fulfil.

Is Your Project Ready?

We're a Good Fit If...

You're launching a children's clothing brand You have print-ready fabric designs You want to use established garment patterns You want small-batch UK production You already have a production-ready pattern You need additional manufacturing capacity You value ethical production You care about quality over lowest price

The easiest projects for us are those where you know what you want to sell, have your branding or fabric artwork underway and need somebody to actually make the collection.

Probably Not For Us

We're Not a Product Development Agency.

We want to be clear about what we do because it saves everybody a lot of time.

We're manufacturers.

We can make your collection using our established garment patterns or consider production-ready patterns you've sourced elsewhere.

We're not the right business to take a completely undeveloped idea and turn it into a new technical product from scratch.

We're Probably Not the Right Fit If:

  • You don't yet know what product you want to manufacture
  • You want somebody to design the garment for you
  • You need a completely new pattern drafted from scratch
  • You want us to copy another brand's finished garment
  • You only have a photograph, sketch or Pinterest image
  • You need somebody to create your fabric artwork
  • You need mass-production factory pricing

Beyond Childrenswear

And No, It Doesn't Have to Be Baby Clothes.

Children's clothing is our main area of expertise, but it isn't all we manufacture.

We already work with independent businesses producing other sewn textile products, including headwraps, dog clothing and dog harnesses.

If you have a production-ready pattern and your product fits the machinery, fabrics and skills within our studio, we're happy to consider it.

Have Something Different?

Send us your pattern, specifications, materials and details of what you'd like produced.

We'll tell you whether it's something our Cornwall studio is equipped to manufacture.

We won't pretend we can make absolutely everything, but if it involves fabric, cutting and skilled sewing, it's worth asking.

A Quick Word About Price

Will We Be the Cheapest?

No.

And we'd rather tell you that now.

We're not trying to compete with overseas factories producing thousands of garments at the lowest possible unit cost.

Your products are cut and sewn in Cornwall by skilled people. We pay properly, manufacture in smaller quantities and don't hide production behind an anonymous supply chain.

That costs more.

What you're paying for is quality, flexibility, transparency and the ability to know exactly how and where your collection has been made.

If your business model depends on buying garments as cheaply as physically possible, we're unlikely to be your manufacturer.

If knowing who made your products, producing responsibly and putting your name inside something properly made matters to your brand, we're probably much better suited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Things You'll Probably Want to Know.

Can I use your children's clothing patterns for my brand?

Yes. For suitable projects, you can choose from established garment patterns within our range and have them manufactured using your own fabric designs and branding. The patterns themselves aren't supplied or transferred to you; they're used by us to manufacture your collection.

Will my garments have Lottie & Lysh branding?

No. Products manufactured for your brand are made under your branding. There is no Lottie & Lysh branding on your finished collection.

Can you arrange my custom fabric printing?

Yes. We can arrange printing through our established European textile printer using suitable fabric bases. You'll need to provide print-ready seamless repeat artwork.

Can you create my fabric design?

No. Fabric artwork needs to be supplied print-ready. If required, we may be able to point you towards an independent surface pattern designer before your project reaches us.

Can you source my labels and swing tags?

Yes. We can discuss sourcing custom brand labels, care labels, size labels and swing tags as part of your production requirements.

Can I supply my own pattern?

Yes. We can consider professionally prepared, production-ready PDF or paper patterns. We may need to produce a sample before confirming full production.

Can you create a new garment pattern for me?

We don't offer full pattern drafting or technical product development from scratch. If you need a completely original garment developed, you'll need to have the production pattern prepared before approaching us for manufacturing.

Can you copy a garment I already own?

No. We don't reverse-engineer or copy another brand's finished garments. You can use one of our suitable established garment patterns or provide your own production-ready pattern.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?

Yes, but our minimums are designed around small-batch production rather than traditional factory volumes. The exact minimum depends on the garment, fabric, print and production requirements.

Where will my products be made?

Manufacturing takes place in our fully equipped sewing studio in Cornwall, UK.

Can you manufacture products other than children's clothing?

Yes. Childrenswear is our main area of expertise, but we already manufacture other sewn products including headwraps, dog clothing and dog harnesses. You'll usually need a production-ready pattern for products outside our established range.

Ready for Production?

Tell Us What You Want to Make.
