For years, our Welcome to the World outfit was one of the most popular choices for baby’s first day. We’ve seen it packed into hospital bags, gifted at baby showers, and passed down from one little sibling to the next.
So it felt a bit surreal to be told we couldn’t use the name anymore.
Apparently, Welcome to the World - that everyday phrase you’ll find on baby cards, books, nursery prints and half the newborn gifts on the planet - is trademarked.
And not by us.
We’re not here to throw shade. But we do quietly question how we’ve reached a point where you can trademark a sentence used to welcome a literal human being into existence. Madness, really.
Still, we’ve played by the rules.
So what now?
We renamed it. Not because we wanted to. But because we had to.
Introducing Welcome Little One - the new name for our bestselling baby coming home outfit. Same print style. Same buttery-soft jersey. Same handmade quality. Just a name that keeps us on the right side of the trademark police.

Why did you change the name of the Welcome to the World print?
We were advised that the phrase "Welcome to the World" had been trademarked and could no longer be used on our baby outfits. As much as we questioned the logic, we followed the guidance and rebranded the design to Welcome Little One.
Is the new Welcome Little One outfit the same as the original?
Yes. The print, fabric and design remain unchanged. It’s still handmade in Cornwall using soft, OEKO-TEX certified jersey. Only the name has changed.
Can I still order if I need it quickly?
Yes. If you're on a tight timeline, just pop us a message before ordering. We’ll do everything we can to make sure it arrives in time for baby’s arrival.
Does it come gift-wrapped?
